AMV is established

Gabriel T. Andersen establishes Andersen mekaniske verksted in Flekkefjord, offering his metal work and forging skills.

Investment and growth

The founder’s grandson, Peder Andersen Sr. takes over control. Investments are made, and the company soon starts developing and producing its own line of products - mostly parts for V-belt machines, woodworking machinery and small hydraulic cylinders.

New location & markets

AMV moves to larger and more efficient location in Flekkefjord, the new facilities soon lay foundation for expansion. By the end of the decade production had grown to include spare parts for construction industry - an industry where AMV is now a major contributor.

Expansion and a world first

AMV moves to its present location, a 14.000 square meter facility on the outskirts of Flekkefjord.
A year later, 4th generation CEO, Per Gunnar Andersen presented the world’s first computer controlled tunnel rig to the market. The machine set a new benchmark for precision, efficiency and safety.

Offshore Industry

1978 marked AMV’s first entry into the offshore industry. AMV develops an innovative range of pumps, cylinders, HPUs, Drilling equipment, cranes and cherry pickers. AMV becomes a large supplier to major service companies within the oil & gas sector.

5th Generation

In 2010 Peder Andersen took the position as CEO, making him the fifth generation Andersen to carry on the legacy.
